How does #FollowFriday Work on Twitter?

Why do people tweet #followfriday?

Each Friday, you’ll see lots of people around the world Twittering using the phrase #followfriday, and lots of people have asked my why they do it?

#FollowFriday is a bit of fun in where people give their suggestions of who to follow on twitter. It helps people like me and you to suggest and find new interesting Twitter users to our friends.

You can use #FollowFriday in two ways

You list the users you recommend other to follow following and add “#followfriday” anywhere in the Tweet so others can see it. The # (hash) is very important so please don’t forget to use it !

As an example:

#followfriday @micksay @W_Debauchez @williambuist @Lifestyleonline @Findmemarketing @thomaspower @michaeloon

Or you can be more direct and tweet something like:

I follow @thomaspower and @pennypower because thay are fantastic parents, great role models and loving caring people #FollowFriday #ecademy

Remember you only have 140 characters to play the game with

A great way to see who is recommending who is to go to your Twitter Home Page and search for #FollowFriday and you wil see a list appear in your twitter stream. See the image below.
